For Day 6 of Blogging University: Photography I, topic: solitude; technique: rule of 3rds. My original photo extended to the right including more of the beach, and upward including more of the umbrella. I think the original is a better photo, better composition, but I wanted to see if I could take a photo that originally had one focus, and then crop it to give it a different focus. I think I succeeded. In the orignal, my eye is drawn to the horizon, the long line between sky and sea. The elements in the foreground give context but are secondary in interest. In this cropped version I attempted to make the lone coffee cup the main focus. Did I succeed?
